BRUNA LIMI

Bruna Mary Limi was born July 16th, 1924. She was born in Bakersfield, CA to parents Amelia and Adolfo Centoni. Bruna passed away to the Lord at the age of 98 on April 24th, 2023. Her family emigrated from Lucca, Italy. Her father owned Centoni nursery in Bakersfield. Bruna was married at 17 to Louie Limi, the love of her life. They had 68 beautiful years together enjoying their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and farm life. She loved being a housewife, if you walked in her kitchen she always had something she would make you. Her raviolis, rigatonis, and sauce were all amazing and she loved to share them with her family. If you were sick she would always have homemade chicken soup with pastina ready on a moment's notice. In retirement years she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and passing down family Italian recipes. She loved traveling, gambling and card nights with her friends and family. The trips to Italy, Canada, Alaska and the East Coast were some of her favorites. Oftentimes, she and Louie would take off to Lake Tahoe on the spur of a moment. They always had their routine and were promptly in Harrah’s by 6 P.M. to play video poker, it was something she really enjoyed. She loved going to Pismo to see the ocean, go clamming and then she would fry them for a feast. She had a great smile, loved her Catholic faith, and was actively involved with Sacred Heart Altar Society. She loved having a beautiful garden with lots of fruits and vegetables that she made wonderful things from. She especially loved the straw flowers in the summer.

Bruna was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jon and Vance and her sisters Eva Centoni, Erma Buoni, and Husband Louie Limi.

She is survived by three children Richard Limi (Linda), Gary Limi (Peggy), and Nancy Limi; 3 grandchildren, Denise Limi (Val Garcia), Michelle Limi, and Kelli Limi; 3 great grandchildren Isabella, Gianna, and Nicholas Garcia. Our sincere thanks to Able Home Care, Traditions and Hoffman Hospice, Dr. Cousins and Dr. Tommy Lee.
