Carl Ray Wren was born near Stigler, Oklahoma on his parent’s farm on July 11th 1944.
His parents were Lloyd and Myrtle Duvall Wren. When Carl was born his brother had to run to the neighbor’s house for help when his mother was in labor. The neighbors came to help with the delivery. Their names were Carl and his wife Rae so Myrtle named her newborn son Carl Ray after this couple in appreciation of their assistance in her time of need.
Carl moved to Arvin, California with his parents and siblings when he was five years old. Carl was the brother to Tom, Andy, Blanch, Dolly and Rex. They grew up in the town of Arvin and became part of it's fabric. He worked as an automotive mechanic through high school for Charles Bailey’s Garage. After high school Carl became an owner operator of his own Trucking Company specializing in "End Dump" Construction hauling during the 60’s and 70’s. Once he started his family, he worked for Denio Construction Company and Cattani and Sons Farming in the late 70’s. Carl eventually opened his own mobile Diesel Repair business in Arvin until his retirement.
When Carl wasn’t working, he loved spending time with friends and planning jeep adventures to the California/Nevada deserts.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife Nelda Pender Wren and son Calvin Wren. Carl leaves behind his sons Carl and wife Kristi, Charles and wife Angelina, daughter Carla and husband Dale Crissy, and daughter In-Law Viola Galaviz Gonzalez, 20 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
