DONALD SCOTT (SCOOTER) BORDER

Scott was born on April 29, 1959, in Bakersfield, CA. He passed away on July 11, 2024 at Memorial Hospital with his loving family at his bedside.

 Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Janowski, his brothers, Kevin and Jeffrey, and his niece, Chloe. He is survived by his parents, Don and Joanne Border; his brothers Brandan (April), John (Gigi); his aunt Judy Clifford and special cousins Megan and Skye, nephews Shane Border (Brittany), Josh (Laura) Criswell, Caleb Criswell, Michael and Christopher Kohlman, and nieces Jennifer Lantz, Hailey (Taylor) Smith, and Amelia Border.

 Scott was a humble person who enjoyed life. During his life, he worked as a bartender and later, having learned the painting trade with his brother Jeff (the Border Brothers Painting) became an accomplished house painter. He enjoyed working on his rentals and taking a special interest in his renters and neighbors from his Oildale community. He often saw to their special needs and helped whenever he could.

Scott’s family will miss his unique Christmas gifts, his one-of-a-kind outlook on life, his phone calls and loving concern for his family. He accepted and loved people as they were. He will be greatly missed by many people.

 Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Christ the King Church in Oildale. Rosary at 10:00, Mass at 10:30.. Please make donations to Saint Vincent de Paul Center, 300 Baker Street, 93301.
