In Loving Memory of Eric Christopher Bumatay

It is with profound sadness and immense love that we announce the passing of Eric Christopher Bumatay on June 12, 2026, at the age of 20.

Eric brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him. He was the beloved son of Christopher and Julie Bumatay and cherished brother to Grace, Gabriella and Matthew. His love for his family was evident in the countless memories they shared together.

Eric was an avid fan of the Raiders football team, so much so that he earned the nickname “Raider” from some of his friends. He often wore his Raiders jersey and shirts, and he was sure to know the latest Raiders stats and news. He loved talking football with his dad, brother and uncles.

Other interests of Eric’s included playing chess, rock climbing and watching Batman movies. Every year he looked forward to fantasy football, of course. Toward the end of his life, he was planning on returning to school to become a therapist so he could help others who had experienced chronic trauma.

Those who knew Eric will remember his quick wit, sharp intelligence and wonderful sense of humor. His smile and laughter were contagious, and his presence was a gift.

Though his time with us was far too short, Eric’s impact on the lives of his family and friends will endure. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of his life will be held on October 30th, 2026. Details will be announced by the family.
