EVELYN WATSON

March 22, 1938 — July 11, 2022

Evelyn was born March 22, 1938 to Jake and Clara Ratzlaff in Bakersfield, CA and passed away July 11, 2022 at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her children Steve, Mark, Roy and David (Lisa) Watson, as well as grandchildren Seth, Lauren and Bryce Watson, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Shirley (Frank) Unruh and brother Jerry (Lurene) Grimes. She was preceded in death by her sister Eva Ratzlaff and brother Ed Grimes.

Evelyn lived a very busy home life helping to raise her four sons and dutifully taking them to church every Sunday. She also held various jobs to help contribute to the family budget that provided for a comfortable upbringing. In her later years she enjoyed day trips, going to the local senior center for bingo, and lunch dates with friends. She is loved and will be missed.

Visitation will be held at Doughty Calhoun O'Meara Funeral Home in Bakersfield on Friday, July 22 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 23 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at the same location.
