George L. Christian

May 29, 1932 — June 25, 2022

George L. Christian (Chris) was born in Amarillo, Texas to RC and Eutabe Christian.  He had lived in Bakersfield 53 years where he was a Communications Technician for Santa Fe Railroad for 28 years. George enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1956, was honorably discharged in 1960, and was then transferred to the Naval Reserves until 1962.

George is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sophia; brother, Ray Calvin Christian; sister, Billy Joyce King; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. His son, Terry Lee Longan,  and daughter, Cheryl Christian, preceded him in death. He is survived by many friends and relatives

A Rosary will be recited Tuesday July 12, 2022 at 9:15 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Northeast. 

Pallbearers will be Jesus Dias, Goeovany Fernandez, Jeff Hill, Milton Gamez, Iain Patterson and Elias Salazar.
