Geraldine Golden Bradley

September 9, 1935 — November 2, 2019

Geraldine Golden Bradley was born May 9, 1935 to Thomas and Fannie Jones in Hampton, Virginia. She was the seventh born of eight children.

Geraldine attended Hampton University where she received Nutritionist and Dietician Certification.  She later met and married Marvin Bradley. They moved to Bakersfield, California; and had four children—Ricky, Ronnie, Regina and Rory.
She was active in her community.  She was a part of the Welfare Rights Organization who fought for the fair treatment of welfare recipients.  Geraldine later worked at the Kern County Economic Opportunity Corporation (KCEOC) and served as Director of Senior Citizen Programs.  She oversaw 13 facilities in cities around Kern County; responsible for Social Services, Senior Transportation, and Senior Nutrition.  Geraldine was politically instrumental in gaining support from local and state legislatures and presented proposals to implement Senior programs in Kern County; such as Meals on Wheels and a multi-purpose Senior center.  She has received many Awards, Honors, and Certificates of Recognition for her tireless dedication to our Senior community.
She was a lover of people and of God and spread His light to whoever crossed her path.  Geraldine accepted Christ as her Lord and savior at a very young age and continued to serve Him until her death.

Geraldine Golden Bradley was preceded in death by her Father Thomas Jones, Mother Fannie Jones, Seven Siblings, Husband Marvin Bradley, and son Ronnie Bradley. She leaves to celebrate her life, Daughter: Regina Carter (Michael Carter) and Sons: Ricky Bradley and Rory Bradley (Tracy Bradley). Grandchildren:  Lela Galvan (Paul Galvan), Brandy Bradley, Andrea Bush (Lamont Bush), Solomon Harris, Ricky Bradley, Regina Bradley, and Alexis Bradley. And a host of great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and many many friends that considered this wonderful woman family as well.
