Born July 13, 1934, to Italian immigrants Joe and Elvira Pierucci, Cookie grew up on the family's home ranch, where he was surrounded by relatives and learned the farming life from an early age.
Cookie attended Bakersfield High School and graduated in 1952. After graduation, he served his country as a private in the United States Army. Following his service, Cookie spent his 35-year career at the Buttonwillow Warehouse Company, serving local cotton growers with chemical and seed sales.
Cookie had a deep appreciation for Central Valley agriculture and remained connected to the Buttonwillow farming community throughout his life. He enjoyed spending time at the ranch, keeping an eye on the crops, and sharing those moments with his nephew Allen Pierucci and great-nephew Seth Pierucci.
He also treasured his time at his vacation home in Pismo Beach and was an avid college football fan.
As a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Bakersfield, Cookie's faith was a quiet but steady presence throughout his life.
Above all, family was everything to Cookie. He never forgot a birthday or Christmas, and he showered his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews-and even their children-with love, attention, and the kind of generosity that made each one feel special. He was a devoted uncle and the patriarch of his family.
Cookie was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Elvira Pierucci; his siblings Juliano Pierucci, Julia Grassis (Robert), Juliano "Boz" Pierucci (Geraldine), and Elva Pierucci; and his nephew Allen Pierucci.
He is survived by his nieces: Eileen Casper and her children-Kelly Donovan, Troy Casper (Dolores), and Meggan Casper; Kathy Cooper (David) and her children-Kara Doyle (Michael) and Kim Cooper; and Annette Andreotti and her children-Joseph Andreotti (Jenny) and Tyler Andreotti (Heidi). He is also survived by his niece-in-law, Lori Pierucci, and great-nephew Seth Pierucci (Taylor), as well as cousins Michael Renzi (Tammy) and Lori Hale (John). He leaves behind many great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and extended family.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
A funeral Mass will be held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton with interment to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery NE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Building Fund or to a charity of your choice.
