JOSEPH "JOE" MUNOZ

Joe Raymond Munóz, 80, passed away March 1, 2023.  He was born December 3, 1942 in Bakersfield, CA, the son of Joe and Vivian Munóz. Joe graduated from Bakersfield High School and served in the U.S. Army in Germany during peace time. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Eddie; brother-in-law , Brandon; and granddaughter, Tara.

Joe worked a total of about 20 years in the oil fields, including off shore drilling in Carpenteria. He also worked for his cousin, Jeff Periera, starting in his radiator shop, and then his solar company.

For 32 years, Joe loved going to Pismo Beach for gatherings with his many friends. He also loved working on his cars, a 68 Chevy pickup, and his 68 Chevy Camaro SS.

Joe is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lou; children, Janet Janene (Darrel), Jennifer (Joshua), Joseph (Gloria); sister-in-law, Rosie, and his sister Susan. He is also survived by granddaughters, Janáe and Jada who were his sidekicks; six grandchildren and 14 great-granchildren.

Services for Joe will be Friday, March 24, 2023 at St. Francis Catholic Church.  Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., followed by Memorial Mass at10:00 a.m.
