Karen Kaiser Ash, 77, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2023 in Bakersfield, California. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2023, 10 am, at Valley Baptist Olive Drive Campus. Karen's final resting place will be St Anne's Cemetery, Gibbons Street, Porterville.

Karen was born February 25, 1946, in Porterville, CA to Herman and Mary Kaiser. She was welcomed by five big brothers - Bill, Alan, Karl, Doug, and Pete and soon a little sister - Tressie. She attended Lakeside Elementary and graduated from South High in 1964. After graduation and marriage, she had two amazing sons: Warren and Darryl. She worked in the school cafeteria when the boys were little and later went to work at Kern Oil Refining and finally FedEx, where she retired and eventually began buying rental properties. Retirement allowed her to pursue her three favorite things: golf, travel, and family.

While she loved a good round of golf and was fortunate enough to travel all over the world for over 15 years, her first true love was family. Family meant everything to Karen. From monthly card nights with the nieces, sisters-in-law, and golfing buddies to hosting Thanksgiving for the entire Kaiser clan for over 50 years. She was present for every major event in the family and was always available to give support and guidance as needed. Without fail she was there with a listening ear constantly encouraging us to never give up and to persevere. She will be greatly missed, by multiple generations, and will live in our hearts forever. Though we are all heartbroken we will not have homemade noodles at Thanksgiving (at least not like she could make), play knucklehead rummy or 31 around her table, go to the beach for weekend trips, or sit in her living room with a glass of wine gossiping, we are all extremely grateful for the time we did have. We are all better brothers, sisters, sons, granddaughters, grandsons, nieces, nephews, and friends for the time spent laughing, crying, gossiping, and playing with Mom/Auntie/Grandma/Greatma Karen. Gotcha last.

Karen was preceded in death by brothers Bill Kaiser, Alan Kaiser, Karl Kaiser, her partner Dewey Kootstra, and her beloved son Warren Ash. She leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her son Darryl; grandsons Derrick (Georgie) and Bradley; granddaughters Lauren (Rob) and Destinee; great-grandchildren Emma, Ash, and Wyatt; sister Tressie (Richard) Williford; brothers Doug Kaiser and Pete (Linda) Kaiser, sister-in-law Nikkie Brazeal, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many wonderful friends.

Forever remembered, missed, and loved.
