MARK FRANCIS WAITS

Mark Francis Waits, 74, of Bakersfield, passed away on July 1, 2023.

Mark was born on August 20, 1948 to Wally and Sarah in Delano, CA. After Mark graduated from high school, he went on to study geography at Fresno State University. While at FSU, Mark met his life partner and soul-mate, Anita, who he affectionately referred to as Fred. They married in 1970 and went on to have 2 children, Michael and Jennifer, whom they raised in Delano.

Upon retirement, Mark enjoyed spending time raising his children, hunting, fishing, and caring for his dogs. He discovered an enjoyment of baking and would offer up his delicious treats, pies especially, at every family celebration.

Mark was predeceased by father Wally, mother Sarah, and brother Richard. He is survived by wife Anita, son Michael (Jeannine), daughter Jennifer (Michael), five grandchildren, James, Abigail, Summer, Kai, & Skyler, brother Danny (Jeanne) and sister Judy (Dwight).

Services will be held at Doughty Calhoun O’Meara, 1100 Truxtun Avenue on July 12, 2023 at 10:00 am. Burial on July 13, 2023 at 9:00 am at North Kern Cemetery in Delano.
