Melanie Katrina Tierney

Melanie Katrina Hartsfield Tierney passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday March 18th, 2022. Born in Delano, Ca October 22, 1971 to Phillip and JoAnn Hartsfield. Graduated from Arvin High School in 1989. Graduated from Cal State Bakersfield in 2003. Became a beloved English teacher at West High School for 20 years, during that time attaining her Masters in education in 2016.
Throughout her life she enjoyed being a part of Arvin High School’s Alumni Band with her husband and friends. When Melanie wasn’t devoting her time to school and teaching her students, she loved escaping to the coast with her family. 

She was preceded in death by her father Phillip Lee Hartsfield. She is survived by her loving husband Jim, son; Michael and daughter in law Caitlyn, granddaughter; Paisley, mother; JoAnn Hartsfield, father and mother-in-law Neil and Shirley Tierney, sister; Kasey Pixler and her husband Kurt, niece; Kelsey Sanders and husband Devon, and nephew Kolton Pixler.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Doughty Calhoun O’Meara with final resting place being Arvin Cemetery.
