Roger Alan Campbell

April 25, 1953 – August 1, 2026

It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that the family of Roger A. Campbell shares the news of his passing after a brief illness. Roger was such a cherished and beloved husband and the absolute best father and grandfather. He filled our lives with such love and laughter! He was the center of our family.

Born on April 25, 1953, in Mapleton, Iowa, Roger lived a life of dedicated faith in God, unwavering love for his family, a quiet strength within and a deep sense of responsibility to those he held dear.

His presence and guidance shaped his remarkable children into adulthood, and he left a lasting impact with patience, humor, and love in his grandchildren’s lives. Nothing brought Roger greater pride than being the best papa!

Roger excelled in high school sports at Maple Valley High, leading to his love of softball at Morningside College and for years beyond. He cherished his years in the TKE fraternity and the lasting friendships from those years.

Roger spent over 45 years in the air conditioning-heating and refrigeration industry as a manufacturers rep, again, forming lifelong friendships and treasuring his years with Campbell Components and his TRC family.

Outside of work and family, whether he was on the golf course, cheering on the 49ers, SF Giants, Notre Dame football, tailgating with family and friends, or building something in his workshop, Roger found immense joy in bringing people together.

Roger was a dedicated walker with Molly and his beloved mini golden doodle, Maci. Stray dogs never failed to follow him home where he always searched until they were reunited with their rightful owner. He was passionate and loved dogs and they loved him back!

Roger and Molly married in Sioux City, Iowa in 1975, raised their two children Jennifer and Nic and moved to California with his career in 1982.

He is survived by his loving wife, Molly, his son, Nic and his grandchildren Colin, Jack and Hadley, brothers and sisters in law, Mike and Rondi Kinney, Sue (Kinney) and John Wieland, Mary and Rob Clouse, Jeanne and Ned Buser, Teresa (Kinney) and Jim Miller, Steve and Barb Kinney, Eileen (Kinney) and Tom McGrath, LeAnn Miller-Kinney, Wayne Hamman and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins to carry his memory forward.

Roger is preceded in death by his precious daughter, Jenn (d. 2019), his parents Dale & Madaleine Campbell, his siblings, Vernon and Michael Campbell, Lana Lundt, Linda Hamman, brothers in law, John Kinney, Matthew Kinney, Marc Lundt, nephews, Jason Kinney and Christopher Wieland.

At Roger’s request, there will be no funeral or celebration of life. A private family service will be held.

Perry of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Bakersfield, CA, along with Hoffmann Hospice Agency and their amazing staff, family and friends too numerous to list and Chicago Title Co for the incredible support with time, food, flowers and assistance for Roger, Molly and Nic in this journey.

In lieu of flowers, just remember a meaningful memory you have with Roger, and the next time you see a stray dog, think of him and attempt to get the dog home where it belongs. Roger’s family was everything to him, and he was everything to them. He will be missed deeply and forever cherished with love.
