SHARON ELEANOR PETRELLI

Sharon Eleanor Petrelli passed away on August 20, 2023, in Coos Bay, Oregon. She spent her final hours with family and close friends by her side. “Nema” will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Sharon was born on June 9, 1944, to parents John and Eleanor Wilson in Torrance, California. In 1963 she married the love of her life, Michael Anthony Petrelli. They raised three children Ron, Elinor (Sissy) and Roberta (Robi) in Torrance before moving to Lake Havasu, Arizona in 1975. Sharon and Mike felt blessed to welcome one wonderful daughter-in-law: Lori Neadle and two incredible sons-in-law: Randy Sparks and Phil Kirby into their family. From 1981 until 1999 Sharon and Mike made their home in Bakersfield where they rejoiced over the births of their nine grandchildren: John, Joey, Joshua, Jordan, & Jeremy Sparks; Amanda Petrelli (Radakovich) & Alissa Petrelli (Graunke); Phillip & Michael Kirby. Nema and Papa loved them all with passion and pride. For many years, Sharon worked at Vons and befriended her loyal customers. Often, they waited extra time, just to go through her check stand.

After Mike’s death, Nema moved to Medford, Oregon to be with the Sparks branch of the family. During this time, Nema lovingly embraced her grandchildren’s spouses, and she adored her six great-grandchildren: Baylee and Bowen Sparks, Roux Radakovich, Teddy and Jane Graunke, Sadie Kirby, and a new Sparks boy on the way. Nema spent her last year on the beautiful Oregon coast in Florence; the ocean was always one of her favorite places.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and her beloved husband. She is survived in death by her brother, Robert Wilson, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Nema was an amazing woman. Her larger-than-life personality, generous spirit and deep love for family and friends will remain in our memories forever.

Viewing will be Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Doughty-Calhoun-O’Meara at 1100 Truxtun Ave. from 3-7 pm. Services will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 10:00 am. Burial services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery Southwest at noon followed by a reception at The Greenlawn Celebration of Life Center.
